Careers and Internships

Current Staff Openings

ECA’s employs 70+ staff members, the majority of whom work from our Philadelphia headquarters. The LEED Gold facility—formerly a factory producing civil war uniforms—houses ECA’s Departments of Energy Conservation, Heating, and Community Programs. With over 50,000 square feet, there is ample room for the Green Jobs Training Center and ECA's administrative staff. Our facility is accessible by public transportation, with the 60 and the 57 being the bus routes closest to our building and the Market Frankford SEPTA stop within a 10 minute walk.

Staff at ECA enjoy comprehensive medical and dental benefits, a short-term disability policy, and the pride in occupation that can only come from a career in making an extraordinary difference in the homes and lives of thousands. Working here means that you are part of keeping thousands warm each winter, helping thousands more to avoid termination, opening careers in clean energy to students and returning citizens, and dramatically reducing energy use for hundreds of homes. Our work alleviates poverty, reduces carbon emissions, adds value to the assets of low income households, tackles the skills gap and diversity issues in the trades, and advances the clean energy economy. Joining the ECA family can be a valuable experience in a varied career- and we've seen staff and interns go on to work for state governments, utilities, and Fortune 500 companies. The ECA family can also be a place to put down roots, and we celebrate employee anniversaries that stretch back decades. Most ECA Directors and supervisory staff started elsewhere in ECA, and grew into their current roles.

Internships and Volunteers

ECA is committed to offering current students opportunities to get to know the nonprofit world, gain valuable professional development, contribute to our mission, and attain educational credit as they apply their knowledge in the real world. We are also interested in hearing from, and working with experienced professionals looking for a meaningful volunteer opportunity.

We want to make sure that we craft an experience that aligns with your skills, desired career path, and our own needs. Please contact Thomas Flaherty at thomasf@ecasavesenergy.org
