Shonique Banks

Recognized for her innovative model strategies that develop an organization's capacity to mobilize and effectively respond to its constituents' needs, Shonique Banks brings a wealth of talent to the Philadelphia Energy Authority.

As Director of Development and Workforce Initiatives, Shonique She plays a pivotal role in forecasting and designing programs, securing resources and support for the marginalized populations who are most burdened by the high cost of energy inefficiencies yet excluded from the benefits of the clean energy transformation in Philadelphia. Shonique is a former leader of OIC of America, the Urban League, and a 20-year veteran of workforce development, with a particular interest in under-represented populations. She has curated hundreds of jobs for historically disinvested populations with companies like General Motors, DV Florist, McCormick, and Clemens Food Group, to name a few. Shonique holds a BA in Africana Studies from Rutgers University, MA in Strategic Communications and Leadership from Seton Hall University, and a certified Criminogenic Assessor. She enjoys participating in service projects as a member of the Fraternal Order of Eastern Stars when she is not working as an agent for workforce equity and social justice empowerment for historically disinvested populations. However, her greatest love is spending time with her family.
