Energy Education Workshops
ECA offers FREE energy education workshops to low-income groups of 20 or more.
Workshops are supported by funding through the City of Philadelphia, Office or Housing and Community Development, PECO and Philadelphia Gas Works
These workshops are informative as well as beneficial to the community and present information utility customers can use to reduce energy use in their homes. Our facilitators provide on site training on how to install self-help energy saving materials. Each workshop attendee will receive a packet of materials which includes caulk, caulk gun, weatherstripping for doors, a window kit and Mortite to seal cracks around windows.
Trainers also educate the public on rebates they may be eligible for, tax credits and new programs that can help the householder with their expenses. Special emphasis will be placed on the Weatherization program operated by ECA and supported by funding through the Federal Stimulus Funding. Written literature that details step by step instructions on implementing more energy saving techniques is also provided to all who attend.
Our goal is to reach as many neighborhoods in the city as possible so if you'd like to schedule a workshop in your neighborhood, please contact Colette Davis (by email: coletted@ecasavesenergy.org or by phone: 215.609.1046)
