History & Mission

ACORN Housing has been organizing for low and moderate income families since 1977. Since then, ACORN Housing has grown to more than 6,000 member families divided into 10 neighborhood chapters throughout the city. ACORN Housing has been at the forefront of issues affecting low and moderate-income Philadelphians for nearly 30 years. ACORN Housing organizes around important issues such as landlord/tennant rights, PGW and utility shutoffs, vacant lots and abandoned homes.
