Highlights from Mayoral Forum - March 23, 2007
Energy sustainability and the twin crises of Peak Oil and Global Warming will be two of the most important issues facing Philadelphia’s next Mayor. Energy prices, which are already increasing at least 6% each year, may rise even more sharply when PECO’s energy rate caps come off in 2010. In fact, when the rate caps expired in Maryland and Illinois, electricity rates jumped from 70% to 80%.
To address these issues, on March 23, ECA sponsored a Mayoral Candidates’ Forum on Energy and Transportation, which 3 of the candidates and over 180 people attended. To sample the discussion that took place, we invite you to download the following resources below:
