Congratulations to the 1200 Block of Wolf St., winner of the Coolest Block Contest!

Mayor Nutter, standing on the white roof of the 1515 Market St. building, announced the winner of the Coolest Block Contest... the 1200 Block of Wolf St. 74 incredible blocks entered the contest, but this block was chosen for its outstanding community spirit, high participation rate, quality of roofs currently installed, and essay submission. All participating homes on this block will receive a FREE energy audit, air sealing, insulation, and white roof coating! These services will save residents 20-30% on energy costs and will create a safer and more comfortable indoor environment.

At the press conference, Mayor Nutter also signed into law new Cool Roof legislation that requires installation of energy efficiency reflective roofs or green roofs on all new no- and low-slope roofs throughout the City. Check out pictures of the event below!
