On Friday, the U.S. Conference of Mayors announced that Philadelphia has been awarded a $500,000 grant from the Wal-Mart Foundation for its Philly Gears Up for the Green Economy program. The program is a partnership between ECA, the City and the Workforce Investment Board to ensure that high school students, dislocated and incumbent workers have access to the new green economy.
