Energy Action Agenda
Over July 18th – 20th a diverse group of community business, government, and civic leaders from the greater Philadelphia region met to discuss ways to reduce the amount of Greenhouse Gases (GHG) emitted by buildings in Philadelphia. The agenda focused on, but was not be limited to, utilizing renewable sources to meet buildings’ energy needs and reducing energy use through improving efficiency.
The goal of this collaboration is to develop an agreement around a proactive plan of action steps, in order to build critical consensus about this issue for the city. Overall, we hope this will enable Philadelphia to reduce the amount of GHG emitted beyond current cuts proposed under the Kyoto agreement and in accord with the US Mayor’s Climate Protection Agreement.
