ENERGY STAR
ELECTRONICS

ENERGY STAR is a label that identifies energy-efficient products, such as home office equipment, which meet guidelines set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). ENERGY STAR labeled products help consumers save energy and money without sacrificing performance.

ENERGY STAR qualified office equipment saves energy by going into a low-power “sleep” mode when not in use. Any action – movement of the mouse, a keyboard stroke, an incoming message, fax, or print job – automatically reactivates the equipment. Remember to turn your computer off at night and whenever you’ll be away from it for more than an hour.

Computers, monitors, printers, copiers, scanners, and fax machines generally use 50 – 60 percent less energy than similar equipment without a sleep mode.
